Delaware County EMS establishes a Full-Time Eligibility List through a biannual testing process. Candidates must successfully complete a written examination, a psychological assessment, and an interview to qualify for placement on the list. Based on this process and the department’s needs at that time, separate hiring lists for EMTs and Paramedics are then created.
Upon being selected from the Full-Time Eligibility List, candidates must meet additional requirements, including passing a background check, drug screening, driver’s license verification a physical ability test (achieving a minimum of 8 METS), and an in-depth psychological evaluation.
